‘Chamois’, painting oil on panel 13x18cm. FOR SALE
When walking in the mountains of Mercantour (france) after a freezing night up there in a trackers-cabin, we encountered a chamois mom and baby, early in the morning at 7 a.m. They ran away from us straight onto the sunlit hills. This was a magnificent sight, especially because the silence there almost hurt my hears. The little chamois turned around on top of the hill, looking toward us. The backlit sun gave it an aura of white light. This painting is in memory of that special morning up there, it became the ‘core moment’ of that holiday. This chamois in germany wildpark ‘modeled’ for me, though adding the cool coloursceme and backlit from memory to give it the ‘magic glow’ of that Mercantour morning.
